Get OUTDOORS! BREATHE....Fresh air! and EXPLORE the Frontier. Summer camp at Woodcrest Retreat is an amazing opportunity for a child to be immersed in the wonder of God’s creation on over 110 acres of spacious woodland, to have fun develop personal character, learn about God, and build friendships! Campers this year will be encouraged to “Fan into Flame” their faith in Christ through following the lives of faithful biblical leaders, including Daniel, Peter and many others.

Fan into Flame The resident camps at Woodcrest Retreat offer a unique overnight experience for ages 8 – 15. Other than the Explorer mini-week camp, campers enjoy a full-week beginning at 9:00 AM and ending with a parent program at 6 PM on Friday evening.

New Frontiers Camp gives a camper a taste of frontier living and learning. Fire building, outdoor cooking over a crackling campfire, hand pumping water and sleeping in a unique Adirondack-style bunkhouse are balanced with recreation, worship and nature exploration in a great out-of-doors wooded setting.

General activities for overnight camps include: GaGa, nature learning, live animals, carpet ball, night games, swimming, morning devotions, creative crafts, wagon rides, amazing waterslide, campfire cookouts, interest groups and EVENING FIRESIDES where campers gather for a time of lively worship and are challenged to “Fan into Flame” their faith in Christ. Full week campers can anticipate a unique theme night and will be sure to remember the belly – busting hilarity of FOREST FOLLIES. New interest group activities include duct tape crafts, friendship bracelet making, video camp news and much more.

Guided by a caring trained counselor, campers will learn and grow through specific activities planned for each camp:

Explorer - Mini Overnight Camp (2 nights, 3 days) Monday 9 AM – Wednesday 6 PM

This overnight camp serves as a great opportunity for children to test the fun and adventurous experience of overnight camp without being away from home for an entire week. Campers will participate as bunk house groups in activities such as kickball, soccer, carpet ball tournament, hiking and exploring. Evenings will be filled with lots of all-camp field games.

Pioneer Camp Monday 9 AM - Friday 6 PM

Added to all the exciting general aspects of overnight camp will be TOURNAMENT TUESDAY where you will participate in relay games, GaGa, carpet ball and archery. Do you have an interest in working on the news crew for the camp video news? Perhaps you would like to try your hand at mega ball volleyball or launching a handmade rocket. Soccer, basketball, banana boats, or ice cream shakers is all available at Pioneer Camp! Get ready to “Fan into “Flame” the fun as you challenge yourself at our low ropes course in the Log Jam, Whales Watch, and Iceberg. Encounter the thrill of The Tree Climb (ages 10 and up). Also, you won’t want to miss the adventurous night games!

Frontier Camp Monday 9 AM - Friday 6 PM

WILD WEST WET WEDNESDAY returns featuring all types of water activities, sponge relays, and a night waterslide to name a few. In addition to the general aspects of overnight camp, choose from interest groups such as kickball, flag-football, camp newspaper, archery, and candlemaking. Participate in THE WAY— an adventurous night game. Challenge elements include Bridge Out, The Maze, and The Mohawk. Face your fears with the high ropes challenge of the Flying Squirrel.

Trailblazer Teen Week Monday 9 AM - Friday 6 PM

In addition to favorite camp activities, teens enjoy a variety of off-site adventures that may include: canoeing, swimming at a lake, trail hiking, and a service project. This week to remember will include a night swim and waterslide, camp wide “Capture the Flag” and “THE WAY”. Of course, theme night and Forest Follies complete the week.
