Meet The Year Round Team

I am thankful for the privilege of serving at Woodcrest. I joined the team as Executive Director in the fall of 2019. My passion is camp ministry. I have been active in serving at various camps since high school when I surrendered my life to Jesus at a Christian camp. I spent many summers at Camp Susque in Trout Run, PA. For eight years I was the full-time program director at Susque where God honed my creative talents. Even while spending 12 years pastoring a church in Towanda, PA, I continued my passion for camp. I started a teen camp at the church and spoke at numerous camps and conference centers during the summer. I am excited to return to camp ministry full-time and to use both my camp skills and pastoring skills to further the mission of Woodcrest.

I received my Master of Divinity degree at Evangelical Theological Seminary in Myerstown, PA. I’m an avid reader and a random trivia buff (although some would say nerd). My life verse is Romans 12:1-2 which motivates me to help others to think biblically and to live radically for Christ. My personal mission statement is to inspire others to do their creative best for God’s glory.

Joining me in this journey is my wife, Heather, and our four children. We spend lots of time in the outdoors together exploring God’s creation. We also enjoy board games with family and friends.

I’m back! My heart for Woodcrest began developing at a young age when my grandmother used to pick me up on her way to Woodcrest to teach crafts for day camp in the early 80’s. Over the years, I have been a camper at day camp, a counselor at day camp, volunteered in maintenance and trip leading. I have also worked on summer staff at Black Rock Retreat and Beaver Camp. In 2002, I began volunteering in maintenance one day a week, which lead to joining the Woodcrest Team in a part time maintenance position. That position then lead to full time Maintenance Director. In 2012, God called me away from the ministry to focus on other areas of my life. God called me back to Woodcrest again in 2020. It’s a wild ride when you allow God to guide your journey! I am excited to be back and part of the team again. Being able to witness God’s provision and the growth of Woodcrest over the years has been a true blessing. Phil. 4:13 “I can do all this through him who gives me strength” is a verse that really speaks to me during this season of my life.

My wife Jennifer has been along for this wild ride and I am so thankful for her as we both grow in the grace of God. We have two teenagers who keep our lives busy with many activities. We enjoy outdoor activities and traveling together as a family.

I started working at Woodcrest in the summer of 2014 and moved into the full-time position of Summer Camp Director in 2017. In the summer you will find me in colorful bandannas and silly socks. I’m Lancaster county born and raised. I love the ministry at Woodcrest and I’m inspired by the community that exists to support what we do here. My passion is to disciple summer staff as they develop deep faith that results in unconditional love for the campers we serve. I attend Hinkletown Mennonite Church in Ephrata. My favorite verse is John 10:10(b) “But I have come to give life, and life to the full.” I am married to my amazing wife Tasha, who is also no stranger to camp life, previously serving on summer staff for 5 years.

In September of 2020 I joined the Woodcrest staff as Office Manager and have enjoyed learning the ins and outs of our busy office.  It is truly a privilege to work for a ministry that reaches young people for Christ through summer and other camp programs.  When my children were young, they enjoyed attending camp at Woodcrest and I enjoyed dropping them off knowing they were safe, having lots of fun and being encouraged in their relationship with the Lord.

A special part of my life is my wonderful husband, Lowell, and our three teenage children.

I first came to Woodcrest in 2012 for a family camping trip. Two years later we ended up moving from New Jersey to Lancaster county and my oldest brother joined Woodcrest as the overnight camp director for the summer of 2014. I started working at Woodcrest in 2016 when I volunteered for three weeks as Nature Shack assistant. I ended up loving it so much I stayed the rest of the summer helping as a Day camp counselor. Every since then I have worked on summer staff as the Nature instructor, Trekkers counselor, Overnight counselor, and support staff.  In 2020 I started as the maintenance assistant which eventually turned into a full time position. I am passionate about using the skills God gave me to help maintain the grounds and facilities at Woodcrest. I attend Gospel of Grace Community Church in Gap. When I’m not at camp I enjoy hiking, fishing, biking, and swimming. My favorite bible verse is Revelation 2:10b … “Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life.”

First as a camper, then summer staff member, and now a member of the full-time staff, Woodcrest has long been a special place to me. After serving on summer staff since 2018, I began a new role here in August of 2022. As Assistant Program Director, I’m happy to assist you with program registration, School of Wonder teaching, and helping to ensure that all of our programs run smoothly. I believe in Woodcrest’s mission of bringing the Kingdom of God to earth both in our little corner of Ephrata and to the ends of the earth. A favorite passage of mine is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”  My prayer for Woodcrest is that it would always remain a place for young people to encounter God and grow in their faith, being given opportunities to serve and being equipped to bring the Kingdom of God wherever they go.

I previously attended E-Town College; moved from Elizabethtown to Stevens in 2022 where I currently reside with several Woodcrest alumni who all moved out together.

I first joined the Woodcrest team in March 2019 as Reservationist. I worked 2 Summers and then joined the year-round staff in March 2021. It has been a blessing to work alongside fellow believers to further the gospel. Joy has come in helping people make reservations to take time away from their daily schedules and enjoy what God has created. A favorite verse of mine is Isaiah 40:31, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”

I live life with my wonderful husband, Tim.  We have two children and three wonderful grandchildren.

I first started working as a counselor at Woodcrest in 2019. I loved the experience and grew in many ways. I was back for more the following two years. I am Lancaster County born and raised. In 2022 I graduated from Lancaster Bible College with a Bachelor’s in Youth and Young Adult Ministry. I worked as Program Director at Summit Grove Camp before coming on fulltime at Woodcrest. I attend Calvary Church in Lancaster and enjoy working with the next generation of the church. My favorite Bible verse is Romans 12.1 “I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God”

My involvement at Woodcrest began the summer of 2020, as a day camp counselor. Prior to that I attended as a camper and also enjoyed the Benefit Auction for as long as I can remember. In 2024 I started serving on the year-round team and enjoying all that camp is even outside of the summer months. I have lived in Lancaster county all my life, and I think it is amazing seeing how God is able to move right within your own neighborhood. I attend Hinkletwon Mennonite Church with my parents and my 3 younger siblings. My favorite verse is Psalm 118:24 “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” It isn’t a super complicated verse, but I feel like it is a great reminder. Every day, moment, and thing is created by God, we should look upon those things as such and be thankful for them. The good, the bad, and the ugly all have a rhyme and a reason.
