Soapbox Derby Youth Group Event

Welcome to the first Woodcrest Soapbox Derby! Below is some information as to what this night will look like.
How Does it Work?
Step one: Register your teams.
- Each team will consist of up to 12 people.
- No limit to the number of teams per youth group.
- Each team cost $240.
Step two: Pick up your kit.
- After registration closes, we will order the kit for you.
- Once they arrive, we will send an email out and you can come to our office to pick it up.
Step three: Build your soapbox car (we will provide the kit).
- You will have about one month to build your cars as a youth group.
The kit includes:
- Soapbox kit (ref to picture).
- Plywood for base (not for steering wheel).
Does not include (you are responsible for purchasing):
- Paint, glue, nails.
- Steering wheel (does have instructions with the kit to make one from 5/8″ plywood that you must purchase, or you may buy a pre-made one).
- Optional pillow to sit on.
- Brakes are optional (in the instructions that come with the kit there will be three options for brake if you choose to build them).
Step four: Bring your soapbox car to Woodcrest and HAVE FUN!

- April 24th will be held as the rain date.
Additional Registration Information:
- Only fill out one registration form for your youth group. There is an option within the form to select the number of teams. Each team consists of up to 12 people.
- So, for a youth group of 36 kids you will need to register as three teams (which will get you three soapbox kits). However, if you only have 24 kids sign up for the event, Woodcrest will buy back up to one soapbox kit.
