Volunteer Opportunities
Woodcrest Retreat is grateful for many volunteers who give of their time, energy and the use of skills to the camping ministry.
Individuals, families, church and youth groups are invited to help for a day, part of a day or several days.
General Work Opportunities:
- Cut, split, stack wood
- Assist with bulk mailings (stuffing envelopes, attaching labels)
- General clean-up of grounds – spring and fall
- Small construction jobs
- Mowing lawn
- General maintenance
- Cleaning buildings and restrooms
- Painting/Staining

Summer Staff Positions
Many summer camp volunteers are vital to our day camp and resident camp ministry including counselors, Bible teachers, craft instructors, nature instructor, nurses, etc. More info …
Kitchen
During the summer months, many volunteers are needed to assist in preparing and serving meals to the
summer campers.
Ladies Auxiliary
The Ladies Auxiliary is a group of women who prepare banquet meals for our programmed adult events.
These women are also involved in fund-raising activities such as making peanut clusters, etc.
All women are invited to become involved.
Summer Weekend Campground Hosts
We rely greatly on weekend hosts to give full-time staff a needed break on the weekends during the summer months. Campground hosts work Saturday and Sunday and must commit to a minimum of 4 weekends during the summer. Duties include greeting guests, operating the waterslide and camp store, cleaning bathrooms and pavilions, and light office duties.
Short-Term Volunteer Couple
For many summers, we have enjoyed having retired couples from states across the U.S. join us for 6-8 weeks of the summer. In addition to serving as weekend campground hosts, volunteers have assisted with registration for summer camp, light maintenance work, office mailings, and weeding flower beds.
A R/V camper is available for housing.
