Summer Weekend Campground Hosts
We rely greatly on weekend hosts to give full-time staff a needed break on the weekends during the summer months. Campground hosts work Saturday and Sunday. Duties include greeting guests, operating the waterslide and camp store, cleaning bathrooms and pavilions, and light office duties.
Short-Term Volunteer Couple
For many summers, we have enjoyed having retired couples from across the U.S. join us for 6-8 weeks of the summer. In addition to serving as weekend campground hosts, volunteers have assisted with registration for summer camp, light maintenance work, office mailings, weeding flower beds, even being staff Grandparents. RV campground site is provided and we work with you to match your gifts and skills..
Volunteer Maintenance
Come and assist in keeping our buildings and grounds in an inviting condition. You will serve under the supervision of our Maintenance Manager. This person should enjoy working with your hands; possess a positive work ethic, and have a servant’s heart. Hours vary by day or week.
Lawn Mower Crew
We rely upon a team of volunteers who work throughout the summer to keep the many acres of grass looking trimmed and inviting. Volunteers can schedule availability with our Facilities Manager.
Work Groups (Youth, Adult, Family)
A great activity for youth groups, Sunday School classes, church groups, and even families. Build your community as you assist in building our community. Woodcrest loves to work with your group to organize the perfect service project. Work may include: mulching, painting, splitting/stacking firewood, spreading wood chips, washing windows, landscaping, and so much more.
There are several options available:
-
- One Day Service Project — half day or full day.
- Weekend Retreat and Service Project: Youth groups can schedule 2 nights lodging and receive one night free. Arrive Friday evening and serve a minimum of 6 hours on Saturday. The remainder of the weekend is yours to plan for fun, games, worship and hang-out time. (Minimum of 8 youth) Note: Groups will need to bring food, towels and bedding.
